Scott Wheeler founded our company in 1982 and served as the President until transitioning to CEO in 2020. He currently serves on the Regional Advisory Board for SunTrust/Truist Bank and the board of directors for the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads. In his time of leadership, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Virginia Maritime Association and WHRO Public Media. Additionally, he is also served on the Board of Directors for the Propeller Club Port of Norfolk and Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce Mid-Atlantic Chapter in Washington D.C., remaining an active member of those organizations. Scott Wheeler is an active supporter of the Hampton Roads Maritime Community and WHRO Public Television and Radio.

Since joining Bay Diesel in 2003, Rob has risen to the role of Company President. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Virginia with a minor in Spanish. Rob sits on the board of Festevents and has been leading the Norfolk Harborfest Parade of Sail for over 20 years. He is a Member of the Board and previous Chairman of the Living River Trust, a non-profit environmental organization that he has been with for 8 years. When he is not on the waterfront or training engineers on the latest power generation technologies, you can find him camping, climbing or biking with his family.

Lynn Chandler has been a major part of Bay Power since February of 1990. As Executive Vice President, Lynn oversees the operations of Bay Power’s parts department, service division and administrative functions. In addition, Lynn is part owner of Bay Power and sits on its Board of Directors. Before joining us, Lynn served in the United States Navy as a member of CB’s (or “Seabees” as they are more commonly referred) and worked for 10 years for Hertz Heavy Equipment. Additionally, Lynn is a member of Ambassador Club Portsmouth, as well as the Virginia Maritime Association and Propeller Club.

As VP of Engineering, Lee specializes in large kW generator units out of our Richmond, VA location. He is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Richmond, having been with Bay Power for over 25 years. Lee serves on the EGSA (Electrical Generator Systems Association) on the board as its Treasurer and has a black belt in martial arts.

With over 30 years experience in the diesel engine sales and service industry, David Bratton overseas the Richmond, Roanoke and West Virginia facilities. He is the Vice Chairman of VMA’s Central Region and sits on the Diesel Tech Advisory Committee for Bridging Communities. Additionally, he was elected to the Citizens Diesel Technology Committee with Rappahannock Community College and participates with such organizations as 7×24 Exchange Central VA, Associated General Contractors of Virginia, Virginia International Business Council, Organization of Women in International Trade, and Chamber RVA. His education was received from Ferrum College and VCU, and he was a volunteer firefighter for 25yrs. When not working, Bratton enjoys spending time at the river with his wife, four children and one grandchild.

After starting as General Parts Manager in 2005, Mike Mullen became Vice President of Materials & Logistics in November of 2009. His overseeing of the Parts Department supports our Marine Diesel and Power Generation divisions and customer base. He currently serves on the Executive Team for the Propeller Club of Norfolk, holds the role of President for the CE&H Ruritan Club, and is an active member of the Virginia Maritime Association. Outside of work, you can find Mike hunting or fishing in the great outdoors.

JOHN BURCH

Vice President of EASTERN REGION

John Burch has been with us at Bay Diesel, now Bay Power Solutions, since 2013. He is a graduate from Old Dominion University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Management. After three years as an outside account manager and growing the business, John was promoted to Vice President Eastern Region in 2016. He works in all sectors of Marine and Industrial Division. Currently, he is a member of the Virginia Maritime Association, Propeller Club Port of Norfolk, and the Business Network for Offshore Wind. When not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer of 25 years and their three children Jack, Brock, and Sophia. John’s hobbies include hiking, surfing, biking, swimming and ultra-endurance races.

BRYAN SCHOOS

TERRITORY MANAGER of HAMPTON ROADS

Bryan has his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Geneseo.  He joined Bay Power Solutions in 2019 and comes with 15 years of experience in sales and management.  He is currently a Territory Manager for the Hampton Roads Region and works closely with commercial electrical contractors, municipalities, and end users to provide solutions for their backup power needs.  Outside of work, Bryan enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and three kids, as well as golfing and volunteering at various events in the area.

WESTERN TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

Brandon Motley joined the Bay Power Solutions team in 2024.  Bringing years of experience from the propane and natural gas industry, he understands the importance of back up power in various fuel type solutions based on surrounding infrastructure and availability.  A Roanoke Virginia native, he proudly serves the Blue Ridge and West Virginia territories and is excited about being active in the industry groups in order to contribute to the region’s growth.  After work he enjoys outdoor activities, going to concerts and spending quality time with his family.

Jessie nears her 14th year with the company, having experience in Both Inside and Outside Sales in the Power Generation Division. She is a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Business. As the Inside Sales Manager, her responsibilities include Project Management, Technical Inside Support for Outside Sales Representatives, and more. In addition, Jessie manages the Marketing Department. Outside of work, she volunteers with the Lafeyette River Circle of CHKD, and is a former President of the Propeller Club Port of Norfolk. She is mother to two beautiful children with her husband in Norfolk, VA, and can be found golfing and boating.
