The Salem, Virginia Veterans Affairs Hospital provides healthcare services to over 112,500 veterans living in a 26-county area in southwest Virginia. Services include extended care, rehabilitation, mental health, specialty care, spinal injuries, and research & development. The ability to provide quality, consistent care to veterans is supported by emergency back-up power. Any interruption in power is unacceptable when it comes to caring for America’s veterans.
The previous generator at the V.A. Hospital failed within a few hours of being modified to meet current emissions requirements, leaving the patients vulnerable to a critical power interruption. Bay Power Solutions was hired to complete the turn-key project. The failed engine in the existing generator rendered it useless, requiring a new Generac replacement. While the new generator was being manufactured, Bay Power Solutions provided the hospital with a temporary generator for nearly 5 months, ensuring the safety of the veterans. The new 600kW Generac generator meets all current EPA emissions certification requirements, allowing the V.A. Hospital to continue providing clean, dependable back-up power to the veterans of America.
