The Defense Logistics Agency is a logistics support agency that provides America’s Military Forces and government agencies with a full spectrum of logistics, acquisition and technical services. Naval Station Norfolk’s DLA distribution building is one of twenty-four buildings operating worldwide providing our military with medical supplies, food, fuel and more, so it’s critical that there day to day operations run with zero interruptions. Bay Diesel received the call and worked closely with the engineer, who designed a Parallel System to meet their required needs. The basis of the design is a 4 x 750 kW Parallel System that will provide an N+1 Redundancy. The System was programmed so that the minimum requirement of two generators will be online to service the load. This project was completed on time and on- budget.
